Giran and Dal had their stunning engagement shoot at Euridge Manor last Autumn. After rearranging their wedding five times they finally tied the knot this weekend! Beautiful bride Giran tells us all about their love story and launching her wedding stationery business in lockdown. Scroll for a gorgeous outfit change, gorgeous water shots and some smoke bombs!

How did you meet?

We met through mutual friends but it really bloomed via social media (one good thing to come from it lol) due to our long distance and we have now been together for almost 3 years!

Tell us your proposal story...

On our one year anniversary my partner actually proposed to me! I had no idea I thought we were going away for the weekend for a nice meal, hotel stay but the moment I walked into the hotel there were rose petals from the door to the table tops and bed laid out in a love heart with our initials. There were flowers and champagne all set out beautifully on the table and while I was in awe and shock my partner was playing my favorite song and when I turned around he was down on one knee asking me to marry him!

Why did you decide to have a pre-wedding shoot?

COVID-19 and the lockdowns meant the constant rearranging (5 times now) took the excitement away and really drained us emotionally and mentally. It was a way in which we had something to look forward to, prepare and plan, get glammed and really take in the moments before we became one.

Why did you choose the shoot location?

We had originally planned our shoot in Santorini but due to covid this meant we had to replan. We always wanted a location that felt but also looked super unique, looked as if we were abroad and was a different style of shoot.

What is your favourite photo from the shoot?

The image of us holding the red and grey flares outside the manor in my red dress and my fiancée in hire cream velvet suit.

Do you plan to incorporate any of the photos into your wedding?

We plan to use these images for save the dates to send out to family & friends as we are looking at ways to mark the wedding through personalized features now more than ever. It is providing a way to make the process more meaningful, sentimental yet enjoyable.

Did you find the shoot helpful for helping you feel more prepared for the wedding day?

It definitely prepared us for the big day! We now know what to expect, how and what is expected of us but also really brought our nerves down! It was an absolute laugh, very chilled and just allowed us to be ourselves while enjoying every moment of the day!

Did you feel nervous behind the camera?

Oh yes! We did not know what to expect at first! However, our photographer and videographers made us feel very comfortable from the start to the end. We laughed in between shots, caught our silly moments and those all-important straight serious faces.

Were there any stand out moments in the shoot?

When we were sat in front of the water holding one another and I was resting on my fiancées shoulder – really just taking in the scenery, moment and love we were feeling.

Would you recommend that other couples have an engagement shoot?

It is an amazing way to build suspense but celebrate your journey before the wedding! It also allows you to use these images on save the dates or invites or even illustrations. I highly recommend a shoot before the big day so that you can have a mini feel for your wedding day, put your questions to rest and just live in the moment. More than anything its memories with your life long companion.

Did your photographer give you any tips before the shoot?

They suggested ways in which we could make our shoot different and quirky – we wanted a fairytale vibe so they suggested we looked into purchasing flares to use, different styles of shoots, what type of outfit would work well with our vision and what concept would fit perfectly.

What advice would you give to other couples who do plan to have a pre-wedding shoot?

- Plan as much as you can in terms of the style of shoot

- What types of shots you would definitely like captured

- On the day top up essentials (be prepared for the weather

- Ask if there is space to change

- Ensure you can use a drone, flares etc. – should form a part of your contract

- Damage wavier and any additional costs

- Just enjoy the moment, not everything goes to plan so just adapt and take it as it comes and go with the flow

Tell us about your wedding plans...

As a Indian couple in particular as a Sikh couple we tend to have large events which last a week leading up to the wedding day. We were due to get married at the MK football stadium pre-covid however we have now opted to have only our religious ceremony at our local Gurdwara (Temple) and have a larger emphasis on our pre events which will be full of colour, florals, pampas and marquee events. We have opted for the colour pallete to be: red, lilac, cream and dusty pink (a dreamy forest theme)

What has been your favourite part of wedding planning so far?

Launching my wedding business on IG - @createdbygg_

It came about randomly in the first lockdown, being the eldest in my family on both sides, I struggled to find anything to help me plan an Indian wedding in particular a Sikh wedding. I launched the world’s first ever Sikh & Hindu Illustrated Wedding planner book which is in the process of being copyrighted, and protected via design rights and it’s been an immensely hard yet proud process for us both! We have feature in a large South Asian magazine called Khush and have also recently been invited by Tatler to showcase our brand and collections. It has really solidified its position in the market and it has not even been a year! Knowing we have been a part of other couples special days, or their wedding planning process brings us real joy!

What are you most looking forward to about the wedding date?

Finally getting married! Having my loved ones around me touchwood and just celebrating this milestone!
