Lucy and Matt tied the knot in August 2020 with 30 guests. After discovering 2 weeks before the big day that weddings were no longer permitted at their venue due to covid restrictions, their friend came to the rescue and suggested using their garden! Sunflowers were a huge part of their day, from the flowers and decor to sunflower seed favours for their guests. Keep scrolling for more adorable photos of their 'best dog'!
Describe your wedding in 3 words: intimate, natural and fun!

What song did you walk down the aisle to?

Jose Gonzales – ‘Heartbeats’

Funniest moment of the day:  Matt messing up his wedding vows!

Advice for future brides…

Try not to worry about the small things, it all comes together in the end. Keep focused and don't lose sight of the most important thing - getting to marry your true love!

Funniest wedding photograph: Our favourite photo of the day was our dog Woody planting a sloppy kiss on my cheek whilst we were having our couple photoshoot.

Is there anything you wish you'd done differently?

Enjoyed the build-up more and stressed less over the little things like seating plans!

How did you choose your venue?

We found out 2 weeks before our big day that we could not legally have a our wedding reception at our original venue due to new Covid regulations. At the last moment a family friend came to the rescue and allowed us to hold the reception in their garden. It was just perfect!

What was your wedding budget – and did you stick to it?

We were able to cut back on costs massively due to only being allowed 30 guests. Covid was a blessing in disguise for the bank of mum and dad!

Top money saving tip: Get friends and family to help out as much as possible.

Tell us about the food...

We had a picnic buffet and afternoon tea.

Tell us about your wedding favours...

Our wedding favours were little packets of sunflower seeds.

What was your best splurge on the day?

The ukulele band: The Mother Ukers!

Tell us about your Honeymoon...

We were due to spend 5 days in Sardinia and 5 days in Sorrento, but due to Covid regulations we ended having a rather wet and windy 10 days in Cornwall instead!
