Theme
We wanted to create a woodland elopement style for this shoot with a whimsical, elegant and natural feel to it. The flowers and dress were chosen to reflect with the beauty of the woodland. We were lucky enough to get a beautiful misty morning too which really added to the whimsical woodland look.
Inspo
The inspiration behind this shoot was to really showcase how beautiful elopements can be. With so many couples unable to have their dream weddings but still wanting to get married we wanted to show them that you can still get married and have an amazing day by having an elopement. The woodland for me was the perfect space to elopement as there are so many gorgeous woodlands in the uk and so many people have such fond memories of walking in the woodland.
Bridalwear
The dresses are a bespoke design made by the lovely Tatiana. Tatiana’s dresses are fully bespoke, and they give an illusion of lightness and airiness which she achieves by using lightweight fabrics, and delicate lace allowing for ease of movement and wear. The bodice of the dresses have great support and really flatter the silhouette which was exactly what demi was looking for. Together Tatiana and Demi spoke about the theme of the woodland elopement and that Demi was looking for a romantic soft and elegant feel to the dresses. Tatiana had a vision in her mind of what demi was looking for and so created two beautiful dresses which had a romantic and elegant feel and really fit in with the whimsical and woodland feel for the shoot.
Bridal Beauty
For Demi’s hair and makeup she wanted a very natural look, not over the top or too glam. She decided to go for natural tones and used a nude eyeshadow pallet to pull the whole look together. For Demi’s hair she went for an up style to create an elegant look while adding a sparkly headpiece to create a whimsical look to her hair. Demi wanted to create a simplistic look to inspire other brides that you don’t need to be super glam on your wedding day. Sometimes less really is more.
Flowers
The Flowers were created by the wonderful Davia. She knew immediately what colour pallet and flowers she wanted to use after hearing that this was going to be a forest wedding. She chose dried flowers with a deep rich pallet to go with the natural outdoorsy theme. The flowers were made up of unusual blooms, seed pods, dried grasses, and eucalyptus to create an understated but unique bouquet.
Suppliers
Demi chose Tatiana bridal as she truly loved her work and knew Tatiana would allow demi to be involved in choosing and designing the dress as Tatiana’s work is fully bespoke. Demi came across Davias dried flower work and fell in love with her bouquets. She thought the creativity that goes into her flowers was beautiful. She knew she would be able to create a stunning bouquet for the shoot. With Meg the photographer Demi found via Instagram and the fact she was local was great and Demi thought her work is insane. The way she’s able to capture couples raw emotion and real personality was amazing. She loved her style of shooting which is really relaxed, involves a lot of movement so the photos don’t look too posed and is full of fun. Demi also loved how Meg edits as its warm, natural and not overly edited.
