After having to change their Las Vegas wedding plans due to Covid, Annie and Alex planned a romantic wedding at Belle Vue Park Tea Rooms in Newport. With just 10 guests, they held their ceremony in a bandstand and, though they couldn't have a reception due to restrictions, had some picnic baskets supplied by the venue with some tasty treats for their guests to enjoy. Bride Annie stunned in her beautiful Dando London gown, and rocked a painted leather jacket on top. Keep reading to hear all about this stunning minimalist wedding...

What kind of ceremony did you have?

Registrar; we aren't religious but still wanted our ceremony to be meaningful and special to us. The registrar read out our love story before we said our vows; how we met, when we got engaged etc.

Something Old: My engagement ring

Something New: My veil and Dress

Something Borrowed: My mums pearl earrings

Something Blue: The ribbon on my bouquet

What was your favourite part of the day?

Alex seeing me for the first time and him getting emotional and also pulling into the park in the VW campervan with my dad and seeing all our family and friends stood socially distanced waiting to see me.

What was the most emotional moment of the day?

Saying our vows to eachother.

Advice for future brides…

The little things mean the most; “It’s not the when, the where or the how but who.`”

Song you walked down the aisle to: Wildest Dreams – Taylor Swift (Duomo orchestral version)

Ceremony Songs: Just You & I- Tom Walker, All In White- The Vaccines, Lifted- Lighthouse Family

Song for walking back up the aisle as a married couple:  Ivy- Frank Ocean

Wedding must-have:

An amazing photographer!

Did you have have anything unusual at your wedding?

We got married in a bandstand! And also my hand painted leather jacket by MamaincStudio!

What was your favourite wedding purchase?

My wedding ring.

Tell us all about the dress and dress shopping...

I bought my dress in 2019 (luckily before Covid!) and it was a lovely day. I had booked an appointment at OneBridal in Cardiff as they had a sample sale on at the time and I had seen a dress on their facebook page that I loved. When I tried that dress on it didn’t suit me at all... the one I ended up buying did not stand out to me on the hanger but as soon as I put it on I knew it was the one and it was just how I imagined I would look as a bride.

All about your wedding cake...

It took me a while to pick a design but saw one on Pinterest that I fell in love with.. I then discussed  it with our cake designer and we made it our own. It was a two teir cake with the wording “We do” iced onto the front. The bottom teir was traditional vanilla and raspberry jam and top teir was chocolate orange.

What food did you have at your wedding?

Due to Covid we couldn’t have a reception but the venue very kindly supplied us with some picnic baskets which were filled with some savory treats! Sausage rolls, sandwiches and crisps which our guests loved.

How did you choose your venue?

We loved this venue as we could get married outside.. After having to change our original wedding plans of getting married in Las Vegas we knew we wanted somewhere that was a little different but also local to us. It’s a beautiful park and tea room with the bandstand making it even more special.

Favourite wedding supplier:

Mamainc Studio for my jacket and my photographer Ana Parker.

Best wedding splurge:

My dress

Anything you wish you'd done differently:

Nope! Even though it wasn’t the day we originally planned it was perfect and we wouldn’t change a thing.

Any surprises on the day:

How many people turned up to the park to wave at us from a distance.

Favourite wedding planning moment:

Buying my wedding dress

Worst wedding planning moment:

Having to postpone twice and cancel everything we had booked in Las Vegas to completely change our plans.

Tell us about your Honeymoon:

We couldn’t have on due to Lockdown! But are hoping to get our American honeymoon trip sometime in the future. We are also planning a “minimoon” to West Wales this summer!

Tell us about your wedding favours:

We gave our guests beautiful iced cookies with the bandstand painted on them from @sugarcoatcookies
