Shannon and Corey opted for a traditional church wedding, followed by a reception at Llechwen Hall. The bride wore a stunning Badgley Mischka gown, and paired it with a lace chocker necklace to match. From the dress (which she got for 70% off at a sample sale!) to the choker she made herself, Shannon was a bargain hunting bride through and through. This wedding is a true representation that your budget and DIYs do not determine how stunning your wedding can be!
Tell us about your love story...
Me and Corey met when we where 15 in the 6 weeks holidays ever since that we’ve been inseparable, we then also had our daughter we always talked about marriage but never really thought it was something that would happen. Whilst on our family holiday in Gibraltar having a lovely meal the topic came up about weddings so we just decided let’s do it so there and then we went to an amazing jeweller and picked out a ring... Not your conventional proposal but I wouldn’t have had it any other way, Corey still jokes and blames the bottle of prosecco we where drinking - fair to say he’s never drunk it since ha!
Tell us about the dress...
I heard of a sample sale in one bridal so on the day I had 10 thousand screen shots on my phone of what I wanted but reality was far from it once I started trying what I wanted on I soon realised the style I wanted didn’t suite my body shape. After trying on 20 dresses my mum had picked a dress up of the rail and insisted I tried it on. My sister and I rolled the eyes as the dress looked like nothing I had wanted... Once I tried in on a instantly fell In love it very much resembled my mothers wedding dress it was a Badgly Mishka very fitted lace detail also fitted perfect no alterations needed...
Did you make any wedding DIYs?
I really loved the thought of a lace necklace and bracelet really couldn’t find any thing also any thing I did find was way over budget so I stumbled across a £3.99 lace trim on eBay so I bought it and my sister mother attached some buttons and made me a necklace and bracelet for less that £6.
Top money saving tip: Look around for sample sales with wedding dress shops I ended up having 70% off my dream dress also 50% of my veil. Also, it’s fun to go to wedding fares but limit yourself because the more you go the more you get carried away!
Wedding must-have: I would 110% say a videographer. It was so amazing to sit down after the wedding and watch it all over again, especially now we have another little girl who we can show once she’s old enough. After the cake's eaten, and the days over, the photos and videos are the memories you have for a lifetime.
Tell us about the ceremony...
We had a traditional church wedding we chose the same church we had our little girls christening so had a good relationship with the vicar also the church was absolutely beautiful inside and out.
What was the most emotional moment of the day?
I always thought I wouldn’t be emotional I was fine up until the vows when you have waited so long for that moment to say I do the emotions took over.
We had a male voice in the choir sing in the ceremony as I walked in they sang 'the rose' it was spine tingling everyone commented on how amazing the choir was. On the way out they sang beautiful song by John Denver.
What was your favourite part of the day?
My favourite part of the day was definitely the speeches we laughed and cried listening to something so personal to you and listening to the lovely words of others is really touching.
Did you have have anything unusual at your wedding?
For our invites we had a video made, then a scan code so when the guests had the invite they scanned the code which brought up a video that revealed the date. It was something a little different that I hadn’t seen before.
We also had karaoke at our wedding with a family full of singers who love a good sing song.. again not your conventional option as a lot have singers or bands but it’s your special day so went with what me and Corey enjoyed I think a lot of the time booking things I was thinking to much of what other people would like but it’s your day,  so go with what you as a couple enjoy.

Advice for future brides...
Definitely take some time during the wedding reception and night just to sit and take everything in it can be so overwhelming so I would just take a couple of minutes to myself to look around and take it all in.
Tell us about your honeymoon...

We had a male welsh voice choir sing in the ceremony as I walked in they sang the rose it was spine tingling every one commented how amazing the choir was
On the way out they also sang a beautiful song by John denver
