Lauren and Stuart wed at cool industrial Glasgow venue BaAD with their ceremony conducted by a friend (they legally wed at the city chambers a few days prior). They chose a gorgeous rust colour scheme, inspired by The Barras area where their venue was. Beautiful rustic styling with casual long wooden tables, an abundance of flowers and foliage place names tied the theme together. The bride wore a gorgeous Suzanne Neville gown, while her 'maids wore stunning mismatched dresses in warm tones, with flower crowns.

I found one image on Pinterest of an interesting flower installation at an art gallery and worked from there. The burnt orange and rust colour scheme came from inspiration of the colours on the old market at The Barras which was where our venue is.

What kind of ceremony did you have?

Our friend conducted our ceremony which we chose because it was very personal as she knows us both very well. We got “legally” married a few days before with our immediate family at Glasgow City Chambers which was way more emotional than we had anticipated.

What was the most emotional moment of the day?

It would have to have been my husbands speech.

Advice for future brides…

Don’t stress about the small details, you literally will not notice on the day.

Song you walked down the aisle to: I Love You Always Forever by Donna Lewis

First Dance: You’ve Really Got A Hold On Me by Smokey Robinson

Did you make any Wedding DIYs?

Not a lot - I spray painted old spirit bottles gold :)

What was your wedding must-have?

A great band!

Did you have have anything unusual at your wedding?

My friend who is an aerial acrobat did a performance on silks to Beyonce Love On Top.

How did you choose your venue?

It is an iconic part of Glasgow which we both loved. A bit rough and ready and not too polished - our kind of vibe!

Favourite wedding supplier:

Ruby Flowers @rubyflowersandco - she brought my vision to life!

Best wedding splurge:

The band! @nickbrucemusic They really brought the party!

Anything you wish you'd done differently:

I wish I had bought a more comfy dress.

Funniest moment of the day:

When everyone start singing Uncle Kracker Follow Me during dinner

Tell us about your Honeymoon...

We went travelling for 6 weeks in Mexico & Guatemala - we loved it.

Tell us about your wedding favours...

We didn't go for any but did get a lovely friend to hand paint leaves with everyones name. Some people took them home!
