Tell us all about your wedding theme...
Our theme was Autumn, it is my favourite time of year I just love the colours and everything to do with Autumn. When we decided on our original date we knew we wanted an October date as we love that time of year and I would not have coped with being in my dress in heat.
What kind of ceremony did you have?
We had Registrar ceremony, we weren’t allowed readings or songs but non the less it was beautiful and perfect.
Something Old: My hair piece was from when I was a bridesmaid at my dads wedding.
Something New: My dress.
Something Borrowed: Tom’s mums pearl necklace, which i didn’t actually have on our wedding day at it was away being repaired for our October date.
Something Blue: My garter had blue on it and on the bottom of my shoes I had blue delicates, saying I do.
What was your favourite part of the day?
My Favourite part of the day was standing at the top of the stairs on the aisle and seeing Tom for the first time. I was so excited to see him and wanted to run down the aisle to him.
What was the most emotional moment of the day?
The weird thing was I am such a crier at weddings. But on our wedding day I didn’t cry at all, I was just so happy to finally be getting married, just felt so calm all day. However in the morning after the wedding when we woke up I did have a cry I think it was just the relief of ‘ OMG we actually did it!’
Advice for future brides…
My advice would be do what you want to do as it is your wedding. And please try not to stress, because as soon as you soon your partner standing at the end of the aisle all the stress will melt away and nothing else really matters.
Song you walked down the aisle to: Jenny’s Song by We the Kings
Song for walking back up the aisle as a married couple: I’m a Believer by The Monkees.
First Dance: I was made for loving by Tori Kelly and Ed Sheeran.
Did you make any Wedding DIYs?
Yes I made practically everything, we didn’t use them all this year as we had to put stuff together in 48 hours. All of the flowers were made by my Step mum, my bouquet bridesmaids and buttons holes.
Did you have have anything unusual at your wedding?
Our Cake toppers were Dinosaurs!
Tell us all about the dress and your dress shopping experience…
I loved it, we went in February 2019 for a ‘look’ we went with my mum, step mum, bridesmaid and Maid of Honours. I tried on so many different styles but when I tried on my dress I just knew it was the one. We left it at the store as we had another appointment at another bridal store but nothing could match up to it. So we went back to Wed2B I tired it on again and cried! it really was the one. Just love that it is two dresses in one, it has pockets and the train is just amazing, I feel like a princess in it!
Tell us all about your wedding cake...
So originally we planned to have a 3 tiered wedding cake. But due to down scaling we opted for one tier semi naked cake with Autumnal decorations and our Dinosaur Cake Toppers! It was Cherry Bakewell flavour and was so yummy!
Favourite wedding supplier:
Our photographer Freya Raby, she’s amazing!!
Is there anything you wish you'd done differently?
No, our day was honestly perfect, we are planning a party next year but honestly if the party couldn’t go ahead I wouldn’t feel like We’ve missed out at all.
Funniest moment of the day:
I would have to say the funniest moment was in the speeches (which were planned very last minute) Tom did his speech off the cuff and it was lovely, the only thing he forget to talk about was me! Hilariously he sat down and my maid of honour was prodding him like ‘don’t forget your wife!’ So he got back up and added an extra bit about me, bless him.
Funniest wedding photograph:
The photo that comes to mind isn’t one taken by our wedding photographer, it is from when we got home and crashed out on the sofa (at about 6pm) still in our wedding clothes. Just makes me smile to look at it. I mean who can say they got home at 6pm on their wedding day and crashed out on the sofa in their wedding dress!
Favourite wedding planning moment:
I loved all of it to be fair. I loved making our DIYs, picking out outfits, looking at venues, I could be a wedding planner if I didn’t love being a teacher so much.
Worst wedding planning moment:
I mean COVID. Not something you need when planning a wedding. But we got through it and I am so proud of us that we got married this year. Not many people can say they got married in a World wide pandemic.
What was your first dance song?
I was Made for Loving you by Ed Sheehan and Tori Kelly. We chose this song because I just love Ed and Tom really like country music. The Lyrics are beautiful as well. We didn’t expect to have our first dance but we had it in the middle of our venue’s restaurant where we can our reception and it was perfect.
Tell us about your Honeymoon...
We were meant to go to New Yorks and Vegas over Christmas and New Year but we have to to cancel those plans so who knows what we will do now. Watch this space. We did have a little mini moon to Northumberland in October.
Tell us about your wedding favours...
We had charity pin badges, we donated to the British Heart foundation as this is a charity what was very close to our hearts.
What was your wedding budget?
We set a budget of 10K and actually came way under! (Thanks covid) One positive of covid and having less people there is it saves you so much money. Even with our party this year we will still save so much money!!
Top money saving tip: Put a little away each month, and don’t blow your budget remember it’s one day and you don’t want to spend the first 10 years of married life paying it off.
