Dana and Luke got married under the Italian sunshine in June 2019 with a gorgeous soft green colour scheme. They booked their ceremony and reception venues having only seen them online, placing full trust in their wedding planner. Bride Dana wore a stunning Riki Dalal gown paired with a soft tulle cathedral veil, and no details were missed from her personalised leather jacket to giving guests a taste of Italy with limoncello wedding favours.

Tell us all about your wedding colour scheme...

Wedding theme was simple and green really we wanted to take in the natural beaut of our location and keep the colour scheme neutral to compliment our location.

What kind of ceremony did you have?

We had a registrar. My sister in law, Maddy, also did a reading for us! It was one that she created herself.

Something Old:my mums garter

What was your favourite part of the day?

It’s so hard to pin point just one part I loved it all I don’t think I stopped smiling all day

What was the most emotional moment of the day?

My dad seeing me in my dress for the first time. He cried, I cried... the whole room cried!

Advice for future brides…

I took out the candle sticks which me and my mum collected from charity shops and boot sales and painted gold. I made my own Invites too... took forever but saves us £500

Wedding must-have:

disposable cameras I have some lovely shots from them

What was your favourite wedding purchase?

My dress! It was like double my budget but it was the dream.

Tell us all about the dress...

I knew exactly what I wanted But I had to try others just to be sure but the only problem being I couldn’t find what it was I was wanting and didn’t wanna risk getting it made incase I hated it on. all the dresses I was drawn to were unavailable In England or well over budget. I went to pretty much all the wedding dress shops in Essex and ventured into Kent and still nothing I did near enough 30 shops and tried well over 100 dresses. There was one dress by Riki Dalal that I kept being drawn too and saving on Instagram so I looked up where the closest shop was which was London and decided to book an appointment (I was about 6 months away from the wedding now so I was starting to panic) I went to the shop with my mum I decided to try a few styles on before my chosen dress keeping the best til last. As soon as I tried it on it just felt right was so silky and fitted perfectly I never had that emotional this is “the one” moment but we both emotional once I had said yes to the dress as it had been such a draining experience to actually find the dress. I wouldn’t change it tho as I spent so much time with my mum, tried on some gorgeous dresses and drank a lot of prosecco lol.

How did you choose your venue?

We chose both venues from looking online we only had a just over a year til we wanted to get married so wanted to book somewhere ASAP and couldn’t get the time off to go and visit Italy until September so we took a risk and booked them via our wedding planner Silvia at flowers and confetti.

Favourite wedding supplier:

Our photographer and videographer.

Best wedding splurge:

Freshly made Italian pizzas with our own pizza chef that went down a treat after a day of drinking and partying

Favourite wedding planning moment:

Actually being able to visit all of our chosen Venues.

Worst wedding planning moment:

Trying to find bridesmaid dresses for 3 different shaped girls hence why my mum made them in the end. That was way too stressful I wouldn’t recommend that lol

Tell us about your Honeymoon

We had a mini moon in Italy for 3 days after the wedding in Ravello. The mini break was so needed after the stress and excitement of the lead up and the day. We had our proper honeymoon in March 2020, just before lockdown, in Barbados that was a stunning destination I’d definitely visit again

Tell us about your wedding favours:

We had limoncello in personalised mini bottles

What was your wedding budget – and did you stick to it?

We didn’t have a budget as such but we didn’t want to spend too much we never actually worked out how much we spent in total we defo went over “budget” though
