Tell us all about the dress...
I designed my wedding dress and had it made bespoke by Andrea Hawkes. They saw my vision and helped me create my perfect dress and were a pleasure to deal with.
What was your favourite part of the day?
The ceremony, we had a 10 man choir singing traditional Christmas songs, which really blew me away and the church was filled with candles creating such a magical atmosphere.
What song did you walk down the aisle to?
We had huge speakers installed in the church and came down to Outre – M83. Loved it, the most emotional part of the day!
What was the funniest moment of the day?
In the church when declaring our vows my husband said ‘I take you to be my husband’. I think nerves got the better of him, but it broke the ice and everyone roared with laughter!!
Tell us about the ceremony...
It was a very traditional wedding. Husband and in-laws are very old school so lots of the wedding reflected that, eg. Dress was morning suits.
Did you have have anything unusual at your wedding?
Yes, lots! The brass Santa band outside the church after we got married escorting all the guests to the local pub for the reception. A Frank Sinatra impersonator/singer at the pub singing traditional, old Christmas songs and an Abba tribute band later in the marquee after pudding to get everyone off their seats and onto the dance floor.
Advice for future brides… get wedding insurance!
Tell us all about your wedding theme...
Rich opulent Christmas colours, dark green, red, orange and a touch of pink!
What food did you have at your wedding?
Lobster mac and cheese – we wanted high end comfort food!
What was the best moment of the day?
Changing outfits and walking into the marquee to Blacked Eyed Peas ‘Tonight's Gonna Be A Good Night’ with confetti cannons going off!
Did you stick to your wedding budget?
Nope... but we don’t talk about that lol!!
Best wedding splurge...
My wedding planner Rosie Green Events. I honestly do not know how I would have done it without her help! She’s super helpful, professional and made everything run smoothly, which I needed with all the entertainment I had planned throughout the day.
Did you make any Wedding DIYs?
Yes, we used clear Perspex baubles, to decorate the Christmas trees in the marquee. I filled them with fake snow and two small plastic swans. I also designed and painted my own wedding logo which I used for the invites & on the order or service.
Favourite wedding supplier...
Hello Doris Loves so helpful and lovely – we hired big light up letters from them that spelt out Mr and Mrs Gregory coming into the marquee.
What was your first dance song?
Mariah Carey – All I want for Christmas is you – such a happy song, never fails to get people on the dance floor and in the Christmas spirit!
