Charlie and Caroline had a beautifully elegant white wedding perfect for Christmastime. Decor was kept fresh with lots of white florals and foliage, romantic neon signs and calligraphy. The bride wore a Halfpenny London; the stunning Riri skirt paired with the Ditta corset and sparkly Louboutin shoes. Beautiful bride Caroline tells us all about their special day, and shares some planning advice for other brides to be...

What was your favourite wedding purchase?

My wedding dress and Christian Louboutin shoes.

  • Something Old: A sixpence for my shoe
  • Something New: My mum & dad bought my wedding earrings
  • Something Borrowed: My sister lent me her garter
  • Something Blue: My mum & dad bought me a little charm for my bouquet that was blue

What was the most emotional moment of the day?

My most emotional part was getting ready I think it was a mixture of nerves and excitement. I also cried when I read my card and received my wedding gift from Charlie.

Tell us all about your wedding theme...

I wanted our wedding to be a representation of us as a couple. My theme was dreamy & romantic. We went with Black Tie with all white roses lots of foliage and lots of candles (Jo Malone our wedding fragrance Myrrh & Tonka) We had a lot of neon lights/ signs and copper frames.

What was your wedding must-have?

For me it was all about candles fresh flowers and lots of foliage so I made sure the venue was full of them.

Tell us about the ceremony...

Our ceremony was at the venue by the local registrar we got to pick our wording and vows, we both choose different words but that meant something to each other. During the ceremony I had 2 readings which I choose myself and I also had a poem about Charlie and I read by a close friend, it was a beautiful ceremony.

  • Song you walked down the aisle to: Beyonce Still in Love
  • Ceremony Songs: Acoustic Latch by Sam smith and My Love is your love by Kara Marni while signing the registrar.
  • Song for walking back up the aisle as a married couple:  This will be an Everlasting Love by Natalie Cole

Did you have a favourite wedding planning moment?

The whole experience is amazing the excitement and build up to your big day is the best.

Did you have a favourite part of the day?

Our day was everything we dreamed of and more it exceeded all my expectations and dreams!

Advice for future brides...

Remember to take some time just you and your new husband to enjoy every little detail and see your guests enjoying themselves. This was given to me and it really made the difference.

Tell us all about the dress...

My Wedding Dress was by Kate Half Penny London. I wore the RIRI skirt & Ditta corset. It was my dream look and I knew from the minute I got engaged I would be a Half Penny Bride. I felt amazing, confident, stylish and classy. My dress represented me and my personality.

Tell us about your wedding favours...

We had macaroons as our favors and acrylic name placements tied to each glass for our guests to take home.

Best wedding splurge: Our signage throughout the venue.

Tell us about the food..

Our wedding breakfast was amazing! As it was Christmas we went for a Christmas dinner theme and we had a singer during the whole wedding breakfast who did swing jazz and Christmas music this was a huge hit! Everyone was up dancing between courses!

Tell us all about the cake...

Our cake was 4 tiers of 4 different flavours Red velvet salted caramel Victoria sponge & chocolate orange  it was a plain cake dressed with all our flowers & foliage we had it set up behind a backdrop and on a podium with our names on.

Were there any surprises on the day?

My husbands speech blew me and everyone away!

How did you choose your venue?

We live very local to West Tower so had always said what a stunning venue it was, and with our time of year a December wedding we thought it would be the perfect venue.

Tell us about your Honeymoon...

We honeymooned just after Christmas to LA then on to Hawaii and Bora Bora it was our dream trip and bucket list destinations.

Did you have a favourite wedding supplier?

My favourite supplier probably has to be my photographer she was amazing and we become friends throughout the whole planning. On the day she was there for me always.

Is there anything you wish you'd done differently?

I was having that much fun dancing I totally forgot to throw my bouquet!

Funniest moment of the day...

The best man’s speech!

Top money saving tip: Shop around compare prices if you really want something get it as you will only regret it.

What was your wedding budget – and did you stick to it?

We set a budget around £25K and to be truthful we never ended up counting up what we spent as we had everything we wanted and could not of asked for a more amazing day so to us it didn’t matter we loved our day.

What was your first dance song?

Our first dance was everything I had dreamed of and more. We choose Lady Gaga Is That Alright. We choose this song as we both loved the film A star is born and this song both gave us goosebumps and the words summed up our relationship and love for each other. We never once practice the dance, but it ended up being the best Charlie picked me up and we also had confetti drop over us!
