This gorgeous couple tied the knot in a church ceremony, followed by a beautiful summer reception with soft romantic pinks. The bride wore a beautiful Claire Pettibone gown with a chic birdcage veil and velvet pink Charlotte Mills shoes. Sinead tells us all about their special day...

Favourite wedding supplier?
Our wedding photographer was amazing and just a pleasure to work with and she captured our day beautifully and now we have so many incredible pictures to look back on.
I also got a bespoke headpiece made by Lori Muldoon. She made the whole process so enjoyable and exciting. I looked forward to every fitting with her as she had a little bit more completed every time we went back, I adored it and know I will be able to wear it again.
Tell us about the dress...
I found my dress online and fell in love with it so I went to a few different shops just to try on different styles but I knew in my heart that I couldn't wait to try on the Claire Pettibone dress!
Favourite Wedding Purchase: So many... Apart from my dress, I would have to say shoes and handmade bespoke headpiece.
Tell us about the ceremony...
We got married in the chapel I was christened in and had Dan's parish priest come and say the mass. We had friends and family say the readings and prayers and my aunt sang.
Who was your bride and groom squad?
Dan has his two brothers and his cousin. He is the youngest in his house and the first to get married so it was a really special day for his family. He also had his niece as our flower girl and that was amazing. She was just perfect on the day!
It was a very easy decision for me as I have 3 sisters - Eimear, Clare and Bronagh, we are all very close. We had just been bridesmaids for one of my sisters in January so we were well used to the bridesmaid duties. They were amazing in the build up to our wedding day and it was lovely to have just family in the house on our wedding morning. My brother did the first reading at our mass too.
Wedding must-have: A good photographer, they are with you for most of the day so it's important that you feel comfortable around them. Emma Kenny was simply amazing. The best decision we made about our wedding day.
- Song you walked down the aisle to: Pachelbel - Cannon and D
- Song for walking back up the aisle as a married couple: Elvis Presley - Can't help falling in love
- First Dance: Al Green - Let's stay together
To be honest we weren't that sure if Anna our flower girl was going to walk down the aisle as she was only 2 ½ and it would be very daunting for her. She was amazing and it really did make Dan, his mum and brothers so proud.
What was the most emotional moment of the day?
Walking up the aisle with my Dad. I will never forget it, fighting back the tears and just realising the enormity of the moment was very emotional.
What was your favourite part of the day?
I loved the wedding mass as it was just such a special moment surrounded by family and friends. I also loved our drinks reception as it was a beautiful day. We were able to have it in the gardens of our venue and our photographer gave us loads of time to spend with our guests. It was a dream come true even though there had been a weather warning for rain that day!
Advice for future brides...
Enjoy and appreciate every minute because the day goes so fast. Don't worry about the small things as you really are the only person who notices them!
Tell us about the cake...
We had a semi naked cake and used fresh flowers to decorate it. We went for a cake tasting afternoon tea (Dan's favourite part of our wedding planning!) and that's when we picked our 3 flavours:
- Carrot Cake
- Victoria Sponge
- Chocolate with salted caramel
Were there any surprises on the day?
The week before the wedding my Mum told me she had ordered us a cheese board cake for alongside our buffet food for that evening. So I was delighted with that as Dan and I love a good cheese board.

Tell us about your Honeymoon...
Neither Dan or I really like the sun and we like going on active holidays. So we decided on Canada after a lot of deliberation. Before our actual honeymoon we spent some time with family that had travelled far for our wedding in Donegal and Dublin.
We then flew to Vancouver for 3 days. It's such a beautiful city! Then we went on a cruise around Alaska for 7 nights. It was simply incredible. When we docked from the cruise we went to Whistler for 4 nights. The whole honeymoon was amazing.
Is there anything you wish you'd done differently?
We had a polaroid camera on the day for people to take pictures and write messages but someone dropped it and it broke! I wish I had a back up camera but it was something I never thought of.
