We asked one of our favourite calligraphers Amelia aka Millie Stone UK to put together a post all about choosing your wedding place cards! Settling for boring black ink printed on white card is a thing of the past. Your wedding place cards are a chance to add a gorgeous finishing touch to your tablescape, and some can even double up as the perfect favour too.

I got into the wedding industry after creating personalised wedding favours and wedding stationery for my own wedding. I have also been very creative so naturally fell into basing my wedding stationery business around hand finished modern calligraphy styles. You can read all about Amelia and husband Tom's gorgeous country garden wedding here.

Place cards are so important to your wedding stationery as your guests will not have a clear indication of where to be seated during the wedding breakfast without them. After having a look at the table plan, they are then lead to their prospective seats by the table numbers and then the place cards.

I think choosing something memorable such as agate slices or little personalised frames is a nice idea because your guests can then take them home as wedding favours and a lovely memento of your big day. It also makes a huge difference to your wedding table, making it less cluttered.

Here are some of my favourite place card styles to consider...

1. Geometric Card
A lot of people love the geometric wedding theme, and each place card is cut by my machine in house in a boho/geometric style. They are available in many card and ink colours. They have proven to be very popular because they are so unique.

2. Classic Place Card
These place cards are lovely for a classic white wedding. They feature a hand applied eyelet and 100% silk ribbon which really adds to the luxury. The modern calligraphy featured makes your guests feel valued as they are all hand finished.

4. Wedding Favour Place Cards
These are my absolute favourite place cards as they double up as wedding favours and are all completely unique, natural and bring a bit of colour into your wedding table. They are handwritten using acrylic white ink, which is waterproof and scratch proof.
Agate Slice Place Cards From £3.50
5. Luxury Place Card
These perspex and gold edged place cards can also double up as wedding favours; they are perfect for a rustic wedding, being hand applied gold acrylic paint in a rustic style, but the shine of the gold really stands out as luxury.
