We've got our first epic Halloween Wedding on the blog today, and we're starting with Jade and Jamie's amazing gothic Glasgow wedding. Mr and Mrs Paris opted for a colourful Halloween theme to fit their alternative style, with an abundance on bright painted pumpkins, skulls, coffins, black confetti and an awesome 'til death neon sign. The bride wore a beautiful Vera Wang pink tulle dress with a cool personalised sequin jacket - we are OBSESSED. If you love this wedding, you'll love the couple's Instagram home account too @thegoffgaff.

How did you meet?

We met through friends 12 years ago. Jamie will tell you I stalked him on bebo until he agreed to a date... lies of course!

Tell us about the proposal...

Jamie proposed on the beach in Barbados. His great grandad is from there and we’d always wanted to visit and this made it even more memorable! He surprised me on the beach one night before dinner by pretending he wanted us to go down and take photos. It was a great excuse as I now have an amazing photo of him proposing!

Tell us about your wedding theme...

We both absolutely love Halloween so it was an easy decision to make. We opted for orange, teal, neon pink and black are our main colours. My dress was pink and his suit teal tartan so this fit really well.

Did you make any wedding DIYs?

We hand painted over 50 pumpkins, made neon signs and designed all our stationery, welcome signs and guest book.

Tell us about the ceremony...

We chose to have a humanist ceremony and it was absolutely beautiful. Susan Douglas Scott was our humanist and helped us plan the perfect ceremony. Jamie’s sister read He may not be perfect by Bob Marley and my cousin read Mouthful of Forevers by Clementine von Radics.

Music

  • Song you walked down the aisle to: Lonely the Brave – Backroads
  • Ceremony songs: a mix of Alexisonfire, Lana del Rey and then Elbow when we signed the register
  • Song for walking back up the aisle as a married couple: a metal cover of All of Me by John Legend
What was your favourite part of the day?
We chose to head to the Glasgow Necropolis for our wedding photos and it was lovely to have some time away from everyone laughing and enjoying the beautiful day. The necropolis is a massive public cemetery and it was pretty busy that day. Everyone was pointing and congratulating us – we felt like rock stars!

Tell us about your hen do...

I went to Paris with my 5 bridesmaids and it was the most perfect girly holiday. We drank prosecco under the Eiffel tower, ate the most amazing food and sung loudly and badly in a little rock bar we found!

Where did you find all of your inspiration?

Mostly on Pinterest and Instagram or from wedding blogs that featured the more unusual style of weddings!

Did you have anything unusual at your wedding?

Lots of skull themes items and a coffin shaped guest book!

Funniest wedding photograph?

Jamie designed fake tattoos for everyone with our names in old school hearts and it wasn’t until we went to put them on we realised he hadn’t flipped them so they were all back to front. Jo caught us absolutely howling with laughter as we tried to put them on!

What was your first dance song?

The 30 Seconds to Mars cover of Rihanna’s Stay. My family and I also danced to Guns and Roses Sweet Child of Mine.
