Why did you decide to have an engagement shoot done?
Our families have wanted some engagement shoot photos for a little while and when we saw it was included in Becky’s wedding package, that was the final thing that persuaded us after already falling in love with her photos!
It also helped us get used to ‘posing’ in professional shots as we have never done that before and helped us get to know Becky and Mike which means we feel a lot more relaxed about the big day!
How did you decide on the perfect shoot location?
Hunts Court in Gloucestershire is Eloise’s Auntie and Uncle’s home and farm and also where the wedding will be. The gardens are absolutely beautiful and we also thought it would be great for our photographer to see where we are getting married so she could look at the places for the perfect shot!
Were you nervous for your shoot?
Yes definitely - neither of us have had professional photos done before so we didn’t know what to expect! Luckily Becky and Mike helped us relax pretty quickly.
Did your photographer give you guys any tips for the shoot?
Yes, from the moment we booked it, Becky was amazing with any questions we had. She told us the types of colours and styles which would create amazing photos and also helped us with different photo ideas as we didn’t have any in particular in mind but knew we wanted them to be relaxed and natural. I love that she allowed us to do a casual and glam shoot.
How did you meet each other?
We actually met on a dating website and after a few weeks of chatting, met up for our first date at Gloucester docks and have been inseparable ever since. We’ve been together 2 years now!
Tell us your proposal story...
We went to Dublin for a sightseeing weekend and Nick popped the question on our first evening there. We were able to spend the rest of our break celebrating, it was wonderful.
Do you plan to incorporate the photos into your wedding day?
Yes - whether on our guest book or photos dotted around the venue as decoration. We’ve also started a wedding website for our guests to RSVP to and also read information about the wedding so we’d love to use our photos there.
Would you recommend other couples have an engagement shoot?
100%, if you’ve not had this sort of photoshoot before, I think it’s a great idea to do one before your wedding. It allows you to work out what sort of photos work for you as a couple. It also lets you build a relationship with your photographer so they know what works for you and the style of photos that will suit the wedding. You also end up with lots of lovely photos!
Did you find the photoshoot helpful preparing you for your wedding day?
Definitely - we are now even more thrilled we chose Becky as our wedding photographer and can’t wait to work with her again! It’s definitely given us some ideas for what we’d like for the wedding.
Which photo is your favourite?
This was really hard to decide on as we love so many! We’ve decided on this one because we think it sums up our family completely. Our dogs will be our ring bearers at the wedding so it was so important to us to include them! We think we all look so happy in it and it makes us smile every time we look at it!
