Laura and Tom are getting married at Hunton Park in Watford on 18th June 2021. Read about their love story, dreamy proposal and engagement photoshoot at their venue.
How did you meet?
We met at school so have known each other for years but have officially been together for 9 years.
Tell us about the proposal...
Tom took me on a surprise trip to Iceland, on the second night we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights. As I was taking photos of them Tom asked me to turn around where I found him down on one knee and he asked me to marry him! It was a very magical moment!
Why did you decide to have a pre-wedding shoot?
It was included in our Wedding Photography package and we love a photoshoot!
Did you feel nervous behind the camera?
Not at all, our photographer is lovely and made us feel very comfortable.
How did you choose the location?
We wanted to see what kind of shots we could have on our wedding day at our venue, the grounds are very big so there were lots to explore.
Did you find the shoot helpful for helping you feel more prepared for the wedding day?
Yes, definitely. I now know what particular places I want photos taken on the wedding day. It also lets you get to know your photographer which will be beneficial on the day.
Were there any stand out moments in the shoot?
Realising there was lots of lavender at our venue which we didn’t know was there, can't wait to get photos by it on the day!
Would you recommend that other couples have an engagement shoot?
Yes, it's a lovely way to photograph your engagement and to get you excited for your wedding photos!
Did your photographer give you any tips before the shoot?
Yes, throughout she told us what positions to do, whether to look at the camera or each other things like that.
What advice would you give to other couples who plan to have a pre-wedding shoot?
Get dressed up and have fun with it. I would say do it at your venue if you can so you can get an idea of where you want your photos to be on the day within the venue.
What is your favourite photo from the shoot?
One of us sitting on the steps naturally laughing.
Do you plan to incorporate any of the photos into your wedding?
We used one of the photos as our save the date, designed by RLS Illustrations. We will use some in frames on our welcome table.
