Supplier Takeover: Charlotte Mills
This blog post is brought to you by British bridal shoe designer Charlotte Mills, featured in Vogue and Brides magazine. Read all about the special details that make these the perfect shoes for your wedding day, as well as some styles from the collection for each type of bride. We just can't choose our favourite pair!
Charlotte Mills shoes are designed at our HQ in Manchester, and are all handcrafted in Spain. Our factory has been making shoes for over 50 years, which is evident in the attention to detail and quality.
Charlotte’s most important goal is to create shoes that stand out from the crowd, are romantic and fun, all whilst being comfortable enough to last the day. Each pair features Charlotte’s special signature details - they are hand finished with an original silver sixpence embedded in the sock of every pair and the luxurious leather soles are delicately embossed with the phrase:“Something old, Something new, Something borrowed, Something Blue and a silver sixpence in her shoe”.
A pair of Charlotte Mills shoes has everything covered - the “Something old” is the silver Sixpence, the “Something new” is your shoes, “Something Borrowed is an envelope we provide which can be sent back to us with a picture of you in your shoes, and your “Something blue” is the blue detailing in the in-sock.
Charlotte hopes that each and every Bride falls in love with their wedding shoes and will treasure them forever as a keepsake of their special day.
We've pulled together an edit, choosing our favourite shoes to suit each type of bride.
For the Modern Bride
For the Modern bride, we’ve chosen our ‘Henrietta Pearl’ style and ‘Indi’. ‘Henrietta Pearl’ is definitely a firm favourite amongst Charlotte Mills Brides, featuring a block heel, and a pearl stud detailing on the peep toe, it’s definitely a statement shoe. If pearls aren’t your style then you’ll love our ‘Indi’ shoe. Our showstopper ‘Indi’ has a polka dot tulle bow on the front, as well as a comfortable block heel to keep you dancing way past midnight..
For the Classic Bride
The styles we’ve chosen for our Classic brides are the ‘George Pearl’ and ‘Meg Pearl’ Styles. Our peep toe sandal ‘George Pearl’ is one of our simpler styles. This shoe is covered in our signature pearl glitter which is perfect for adding a subtle detail whilst still letting your bridal gown do all the talking! If you’d prefer a closed toe, our ‘Meg Pearl’ shoe is the perfect option, she is our sleek and stylish point toe d’Orsay bridal shoe. Meg is the perfect shade to complement both white and ivory. She also features Charlotte’s signature heart design on the back of the shoe and a delicate ankle strap for added support and comfort on your big day.
George Pearl is also available in a lower block heel, see ‘Imogen Pearl’ and ‘Meg Pearl’ is also available in wide fit.
For the Fun Bride
Are you going against the grain and having a non-traditional wedding? We’ve got you covered. Our ‘George Unicorn’ shoe features our fabulous iridescent glitter and is giving us serious unicorn vibes, with subtle rainbow shades - perfect for the bride that wants something a little bit different for her big day. George combines style and comfort with a supportive cross-over vamp and delicate ankle strap and is ideal to wear again and again after the main event! We also love 'Henri Blush', Perfectly marrying style and comfort, our Henri sandal is made in the most sumptuous crushed velvet in the prettiest shade of blush pink and features a scattering of statement pearl beading across the front.
George Unicorn is also available as a low block heel, see ‘Imogen Unicorn’ and ‘Henri Blush’ is also available in wide fit.
The bridal collection also features many more styles including flats, faux leather (vegan) styles, and some gorgeous coloured heels such pink, blue and red too. To view the full collection please visit charlottemills.com. We are obsessed!
